Funding and Availability
NHSE recently announced upcoming changes to the national fellowship funding, which funds the GP CATALYST programme for newly qualified GPs in our region.
Any GPs in their first year of qualifying, and who CCT’d before 31st March 2024 are still eligible to access this. Funding will also continue as per current arrangements for any fellows already enrolled and on the 2-year programme.
For new GPs, the deadline for expressing interest to access this current funding was 31st March 2024. The new cohort will start in September, eligible GPs can register by returning a registration form to hnyicb.traininghub@nhs.net by 9th Aug 2024.
If you CCT’d before 31st March and missed the deadline to secure funding, please get in touch on hnyicb.traininghub@nhs.net and we can add you to a waiting list for any places that may become available.
If you CCT after 31st March 2024 and would like to be kept up to date regarding any new funding offer, you can also register your interest on the link below, and we will keep you informed as and when there are any updates:

Enhanced Offer
A 2-year programme delivered by the HNY Primary Care Workforce & Training Hub. This programme offers a supported introduction to life as a qualified GP and is available to GPs that have qualified within the past 24 months. The enhanced offer would involve a weekly fellowship session and is available alongside Catalyst. The focus of the fellowship time can be planned to suit the GPs interest, for example, education, teaching and training, research, leadership, specialist clinical placements or project work. Each fellow will be assigned a Fellowship Facilitator available for guidance, and meet in small group sessions approximately every two months.
Funding to support this element of the programme is primarily targeted at practices that have been identified as being within under doctored areas across the Humber and North Yorkshire region (Hull, North East Lincolnshire, Withernsea, Bridlington, Hornsea and Scarborough). A bursary is available to support release for 1 session per week.
The Enhanced offer is a locally funded HNY initiative aimed at supporting recruitment in the hardest to recruit to areas.
